Contests and Freebies

There are two new blogs in portuguese language dedicated to the contests freebies and all sort of free things.
One of them, called custo zero (meaning costs nothing) dedicated to all sorts of contests and freebies (passatempos in
portuguese). In this blog you can find from cinema tickets, to DVDs.
From Parfum samples to PS2, from Rock shows tickets to $5000 prize
contests. All of this with zero cents price. The content is in
portuguese and most of the contests and prizes are available for
Portugal only with some exceptions, for instance the $5000 contest for skateboard filmmakers or the IMAGO'06.
The other one is devoted to the latest movie releases.
It only presents the movies that will release in the cinemas in the
next week and collects the contests from all the other websites,
grouping them by movie. The prizes are tipically movie tickets (bilhetes de cinema in portuguese) and the blog is called Ante-Estreia (pre-release).

Carcasherdotcom seocontest

There is a new SEO contest running on the Internet. It is sponsored by carcasher.com and it is very interesting to watch.

How does it work?

carcasher.com proposes to pay to the people who can have its site in the first page of Google results for the term carcasherdotcom seocontest. It will give a prize for the first placed every month plus a great prize for the first ranked at the end of the year. There are also second and third prizes to the ones placed first in Yahoo! search and MSN search.

I am watching this competiotion through the carcasherdotcom seocontest blog who is also running for the competition as it seems. If you want to help this blog to get good on rankings, just link them with the words carcasherdotcom seocontest or carcasherdotcom seocontest blog or simply just carcasherdotcom or seocontest.

Marriage

Last weekend I went to a marriage. The party was in a very beautiful place in the mountains, lots of food and drink.

Both the guy and the girl are my friends for a long long time. They were boyfriend/girlfriend for at least 9 years and I knew both of them even before they started with each other. Highscool times.

There was in this party one special thing that i've seen for the first time and i found a very nice thing. They collected some songs and put them in a CD to gift the guests.

Here's the line up:

01. Rolling stones - Angie
02. Adriana Calcanhotto - Fico assim sem você
03. Robbie Williams - She's the One
04. Keane - This is the last time
05. Guns'n'Roses - November Rain
06. Sinead O'Connor - Nothing compares to U
07. U2 - One
08. John Lennon - Imagine
09. Metallica - Nothing else matters [live]
10. Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
11. Kate Bush & Peter Gabriel - Don't give up
12. Daniel Powter - Bad day

Congratulations to the fiancés and a very very happy life together...

BlogShares

There's a game running on the Net that is all about blogs. The game is BlogShares.

Blogshares is a simulated, fantasy stock market for Blogs where players invest fictional money to buy stocks and bonds in an artificial economy. Weblogs are the companies, producing commodities called 'Ideas'. Created in 2003 by Seyed Razavi, the game suffered a near-fatal crash in late 2003, only to be salvaged by Jay Campbell of Santa Cruz Tech, with much assistance from player/codemonkey Suburban Wolf. Today, the game has thousands of active members, tracking well over 2 million blogs.

To Blogshares related stuff, I created a new Blog. It's the BlogShares News and it's totally about this game and related. If you're curious, take a look.

Why Moleskine?

A moleskine /mɔləˈskinə/ is a style of notebook currently being manufactured by Modo & Modo of Italy. A moleskine is bound in oilcloth-covered cardboard (Moleskin), has an elastic band to hold the notebook closed, and, due to the sewn spine, lays flat when opened.

Moleskine's most famous endorsement comes from Bruce Chatwin, who used them constantly throughout his travels, and wrote about them glowingly. Chatwin's original source of notebooks dried up in 1986, when the owner of the Paris stationer where he purchased them died. The modern moleskine is fashioned after Chatwin's descriptions of the notebooks he used and are not a direct descendant.

Modo & Modo claims the notebook has been used by other well-known artists and writers, such as Picasso, Matisse, and Hemingway. One well-known writer who has confirmed using them is Neil Gaiman, who wrote about his love of moleskine notebooks on his blog.

Today the moleskine notebook has a romantic image as a traveler's notebook of choice, mostly due to Chatwin's heavy endorsement during his own many travels and Modo & Modo's advertising of that fact. Although more expensive than the average notebook, Moleskine worths for the high quality and design.
